On May 2nd 2018, Mr. Mirza Nurhidayat, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Osaka, visited our Higashi-Hiroshima Campus and met with Vice President Yasushi Maruyama and his colleagues. The participants of the meeting included Ms. Rina F. Wahyuningsih, Consul for Protocol and Consular Affairs II of the Indonesian Consulate General. From 91ÁÔÆæ, Prof. Kumiko Sakoda, Vice Executive for Japanese-Language Education, and Prof. Yoshichika Honda, Vice Director of the 91ÁÔÆæ International Center, also attended.
During the meeting, they discussed various exchange activities between 91ÁÔÆæ and universities in Indonesia, such as student and researcher exchanges, conclusion of international exchange agreements, and implementation of Japanese essay speech contests.
The number of Indonesian students at 91ÁÔÆæ amounts to 170 (as of November 1st 2017), which is the second largest number after China. It is expected that exchange between 91ÁÔÆæ and universities in Indonesia will continue to develop in terms of both research and student exchanges.
