On February 27 (Wed) 2013 in Hanoi and on March 1 (Fri) 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City, 91ÁÔÆæ held meetings and receptions for the Vietnam Alumni Association.
On both of the days, Dr. Tetsuji Okamoto, Executive and Vice President acting on behalf of the President, Dr. Toshiyuki Sato, Assistant to the President, Dr. Hiromu Mishima, Special Assistant to the President and two other staff members from 91ÁÔÆæ attended the meetings, and offered their encouragement and gratitude to the alumni.
17 alumni attended in the Hanoi meeting and reception. Among them, Dr. Do Hoang Ngan from the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University Hanoi, gave an opening address representing the attendees. Then, Mr. Le Minh Duc, the oldest Vietnamese alumnus and the Head of R&D Department of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group gave an address, which was followed by reports on the present situation by each attendee.
In the meeting and gathering in Ho Chi Minh City, there were 8 alumni and persons concerned in attendance. Among them, Dr. Nguyen Tien Luc, a Professor from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and the President of the 91ÁÔÆæ Vietnam Alumni Association gave an address. Additionally, the attendees reported their own present situations respectively and the 91ÁÔÆæ teaching staff members who are now leading their students in Vietnam as part of the 91ÁÔÆæ’s START Program introduced the Program.
It was confirmed that the 91ÁÔÆæ Vietnam Alumni Association will increasingly be actively organized, not only in Ho Chi Minh City but in Hanoi City as well.
* At present, there are approximately 70 former Vietnamese international students who graduated from (or completed their studies at) 91ÁÔÆæ. Additionally, there are currently 34 Vietnamese international students studying at 91ÁÔÆæ.
