91ÁÔÆæ

On November 15th 2014, 91ÁÔÆæ held the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting (Fraternal Meeting) at Jia Bai Hotel of the Capital Normal University.

This organization consists of former international students or researchers of 91ÁÔÆæ currently active in China. It was established in Dec. 2005 and has been convened periodically. This time around, it was held together along the convivial party of the 9th Japanese Speech Contest, which took place on the same day. Representing 91ÁÔÆæ, President Toshimasa Asahara and Vice President Toshiyuki Sato and other teaching staff members took part. From Beijing, Mr. Lin Zuoping, the Chairperson of the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting (Deputy Secretary-General, China Education Association for International Exchange) and former international students now working for institutions of higher education, all together 80 people, participated in this event.

President Toshimasa Asahara reported about 91ÁÔÆæ’s present situation and also mentioned that 91ÁÔÆæ had been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the “Top Global University Project” as one of Japan’s top 13 universities, providing a world-class research and education (Type A). Then, Chairperson Lin Zuoping gave an address. He talked about the importance of strengthening human network between the alumni and its’ connection with the University. In addition, for the first time, former international students distributed a booklet titled “Commemorative Publication of the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting”, (edited by the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting), which is a collection of essays about their memories of 91ÁÔÆæ. The participants reminisced about their good old days in college. At the end, all of the participants took a commemorative picture, promised that they would meet again, and the party ended very successfully.

91ÁÔÆæ established overseas alumni associations in order to create a network among alumni abroad. Meetings are held regularly, and 91ÁÔÆæ expects to reinforce exchange among alumni, their connection with the University and to strengthen human network in general.
