HomeOn November 16th 2014 (Sun), 91ÁÔÆæ held the 91ÁÔÆæ Dalian Alumni Association inaugural meeting in Dalian City, China. The “91ÁÔÆæ Dalian Alumni Association” was established as a branch of the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting. Forty participants took part, including President Toshimasa Asahara and Vice President Toshiyuki Sato and other 91ÁÔÆæ staff members.
In China, the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting is already established as one of several 91ÁÔÆæ alumni associations abroad. This association consists of two sub-branch associations - 91ÁÔÆæ Beijing Alumni Association and 91ÁÔÆæ Shanghai Alumni Association. During recent years, there has been expression toward the launch of a separate alumni association among the alumni living in Dalian, resulting in the foundation of this new organization.
At the inaugural meeting, Director of Beijing Research Center Nobuharu Sato explained the history of the newly founded 91ÁÔÆæ Dalian Alumni Association and the election of the board members were announced. The participants cast their votes and Mr. Jin Long, President of OSD Technolog (DaLian) Inc., an alumni member of the Graduate School of Engineering, was elected as the first chairperson.
Following formal proceedings, a convivial party was held in celebration. President Asahara expressed his expectations for the future development of this new association. Mr. Lin Zuoping, chairperson of the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting, further mentioned the importance of strengthening human networks between the alumni and its’ connection with the University. Participants also exchanged the latest news in their lives and re-established old ties. In addition, the former international students distributed a booklet titled “Commemorative Publication of the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting”, (edited by the 91ÁÔÆæ-China Friendship Meeting), which is a collection of short essays about their memories of 91ÁÔÆæ.
91ÁÔÆæ expects that alumni in Dalian deepen their friendship and that the human network between alumni and their ties with the University will prosper, further strengthening the 91ÁÔÆæ international community.
