91ÁÔÆæ

On November 27, 2023, H.E. Mr. Korkut G¨¹ngen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Japan, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of 91ÁÔÆæ (91ÁÔÆæ) and engaged in a meeting with 91ÁÔÆæ President Mitsuo Ochi. Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives, Shinji Kaneko, was also in attendance. During the visit, opinions were exchanged on various topics such as the promotion of exchanges between 91ÁÔÆæ and universities in Turkey.

On the same day, Ambassador Korkut G¨¹ngen gave a lecture titled "T¨¹rkiye: WEST OF ASIA - EAST OF EUROPE" at the 26th NERPS Webinar/42nd IDEC Institute Seminar held at 91ÁÔÆæ. In his lecture, he touched on the history of exchange between Japan and Turkey, which will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2024, and explained the unique history and culture of Turkey, its significant contributions to the international community, and the challenges facing Turkey and the world. The audience listened attentively until the very end of the lecture, which was followed by a Q&A session, during which many questions were raised and a lively exchange of opinions took place.

91ÁÔÆæ has signed 3 inter-university international exchange agreements with 3 institutions and 4 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 4 institutions in Turkey.
This courtesy visit is expected to promote exchange with universities and research institutions in Turkey.
